Nitika K. Goyal, DDS, is a board-certified periodontist and implant surgeon who has strong roots in northern New Jersey. Raised in Florham Park, and a graduate of Hanover Park High School, Dr. Goyal went on to graduate magna cum laude from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Science in pharmacology.
While attending the University of Michigan, Dr. Goyal was actively involved in cancer research and social outreach work, and served as a community educator on the prevention of life-threatening diseases. She then returned to the tri-state area and obtained her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Columbia University in New York.
Her interest in implant dentistry and the specialty of periodontics continued to evolve. Dr. Goyal’s dental studies inspired her to become a strong advocate of patient education and oral health. “I became very interested in the link between oral health and systemic disease,” she says. This interest continues to serve as the foundation for Dr. Goyal’s practice philosophy: to restore form and function with a strong emphasis on patient aesthetics.
Dr. Goyal completed her fellowship in periodontics and implant dentistry at the University of Pennsylvania, where she had the unique privilege to train with some of the most respected figures in dental, surgical, and cosmetic periodontics and implant dentistry.
Since then, she has been eager to learn about the most innovative and recent trends in implant and periodontal therapy that will help reach the best possible outcomes for her patients. Hers is a research-based practice that offers outcomes to patients which are known to work and have been thoroughly investigated.
Dr. Goyal practices in Mountainside, and is the founder of Summit Periodontics & Implant Dentistry. She is dedicated to providing high-quality periodontal services to our neighbors throughout northern New Jersey. She draws from her extensive studies and experience in periodontics and dental implants to deliver accurate diagnoses, and contemporary, realistic, and effective treatments. Dr. Goyal specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease, the regeneration of bone and soft tissue, and the placement of dental implants.
Dr. Goyal lectures extensively in New Jersey, New York, and Philadelphia. She is also a clinical instructor for the dental residency program at Overlook Medical Center. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, American Dental Association, American Academy of Osseointegration, and Union County Dental Society.
Dr. Goyal lives with her husband and her young son and daughter. In her free time, she works on her singles tennis game, looks for new recipes to try out on her family, and takes photos of her children and the various places they’ve traveled throughout the world.
